Terribly Sorry

I'm exceptionally apologetic about the delay for chapter three! I do have multiple other projects and that leads to slow production, even on things I really want to do!

But, until I can get the chapter complete I will try to post up some drawing I have laying around of Mort! Please enjoy.

Character Description One: Mortecai Ghotiboel

Mortecai is a 5'1", 16 to 17 year old bisexual, cisgender male of Asian decent; Japanese American on his father's side, Korean on his mother's side. He has short black hair, trimmed neatly but rarely well kept. His eye colour is yet unspecified within the story and therefore will not be noted here. Mortecai appears small and meager, seeming submissive and possibly shy. In fact, he is terribly obedient and as such he is easily pressured into things. Mortecai also has a terrible speech impediment for questionable reasons (examined in the story), this impediment makes him unable to form words, though he can make sounds such as laughter. He has not seen or spoken to his mother since he was seven. He met his father (Lucas Ghotiboel) when he was six. Mortecai currently lives in a two bedroom apartment with his father in Hearse Springs, Washington (fictional town, real state). He attends highschool at Hearse Springs highschool, he is a senior. Finally, Mortecai has never had any real friends. There are few people who interact with him on rare occasion, but until meeting Louy no one was truly consistent with him.

About the Writer and Editor: Background on the Book

The writer:

Hello there, I am the moderator of this blog as well as the writer of the book in question. My name is Lance and I'm generally a multi-genre writer, though I have been leaning more towards horror as of later. I am also an artist, though it is much less of an interest now than it used to be.
A little bit of background on the book: The original plot for the book came in early 2014. You see in my childhood I had a terrible stutter. My stutter is much easier to manage now but it is still there and it does still bother me greatly. I also have a lot of nightmares in which I find myself unable to speak aloud. After years of these dreams I decided I should vent it out through a character and so came Mortecai.
Mortecai started out very bland, as most base characters often do. I had a simple description of him (his main colour pallet being black and orange in celebration of my favourite holiday, Halloween) and I had the fact that his speech impediment was so bad that he often refused to even try speaking, since he knew nothing understandable would come out.
After the first section or so of chapter one I relised I would need far more on him and every other character I wished to introduce before I could go any further. The story sat for a while, I choose to work on slightly more developed stories in that time. I soon realised that my lack of planning in my stories simply would not do.
And so I came back on this story. First I changed the title to a new but more temporary one (the old title had been given to me by someone I no longer speak to, so I wasn't comfortable using it any longer) and then to another new and hopefully permanent one (Silent Spiral --> Void --> Lamia's Children).

The Editor:

Hello, I am Bee, the editor of the book in question. Lance also says that I should put down that he sometimes posts things unedited, and that it is in no way my fault (I'll probably just go back and edit it anyhow). Lance decided to share Lamia's Children with me after I expressed interest in reading it.  I then pointed out some errors and Lance was like, "Hey, you wanna edit stuff?"  I said sure and here we are.

About the Book

The book (Lamia's Children) is about a teen boy (Mortecai Ghotiboel) finding his first group of friends just as he starts developing hallucinations.
I am not entirely sure where the story will go as of yet, but for now it is something of a coming-of-age story with a terrifying twist.
The story is categorized as a horror, although the first few chapters will have a more slice-of-life feel to them. Please try to stick around for the more eerie sections that are soon to come.
